A delayed bid activates one minute before the auction's closing time. If an item is listed with an automatic extension option, a delayed bid activates six minutes before the auction's closing time to prevent the automatic extension.
What are the pros of a delayed bid?
1. A delayed bid is placed at the last minute. Items without automatic extensions should be purchased last minute before the auction closing time, so other bidders can't outbid you. Most auctions end late in the evening in the Japan time zone, so it may be difficult to place the bid last minute.
2. Delayed bids can be placed for several items simultaneously . It is challenging to place ten different last-minute bids manually. The system places them automatically, so you will not miss your desired item. Ensure you have enough funds to place multiple bids.
3. There is no need to watch the auction. You do not need to sit in front of your computer and count the seconds before the auction ends.
How to place a Delayed Bid?
On the item's page, tick the box Delayed Bid above the Place a Bid button.
Ticked box: the bid will be placed as a Delayed one.
Unticked box: the bid will be placed immediately after clicking on Place a Bid.
After the bid is placed, you will receive an automatic notification. You can check the list of your delayed bids in your profile under a separate tab.
Pay attention to the following
As opposed to immediate bids, Delayed Bids are accepted regardless of your account balance. By ticking the box Delayed Bid, you make a bid request. It will be checked if you have enough funds right before the placement, i.e. 1 or 6 minutes before the auction closing time. Please refill your account to ensure the Delayed Bid is placed succesfully.
