オーブリー・パウエルは1967年にアルバムカバーデザイン会社『ヒプノシス』を共同設立しました。同社はロックのアルバムアートの先駆者であり、1960年代、70年代、80年代の最も革新的でシュールなレコードカバーアートのいくつかを作成しました。 グラミー賞に5回ノミネートされたヒプノシスは、ピンク・フロイド、レッド・ツェッペリン、ポール・マッカートニー、ブラック・サバス、ジェネシス、シド・バレット、AC/DCなど、ロックバンドの多くに400枚以上のアルバムカバーを作成しました。 パウエルは現在、ピンク・フロイドのクリエイティブディレクターです。

Aubrey Powellcofounded the album cover design agency Hipgnosis in 1967. The company was at the vanguard of rock iconography, creating some of the most innovative and surreal record cover art of the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. Nominated five times for a Grammy Award, Hipgnosis created more than four hundred album covers for many of the biggest rock bands of the era, including Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Paul McCartney. Powell is currently the creative director for Pink Floyd.
